I just saw your blog mentioned in GeneaBloggers, but I wasn’t going to take a look, because I’m not researching the Juon surname. I’m glad I stopped by for a peak anyhow, because I noticed your list of surnames includes Metzger, which surname I am researching! Although it is a slim chance, I’d love to compare the details and see if there is any connection. My Metzgers were from central Ohio in the mid 1800s through 1900s.
Best wishes on your continued blogging and research efforts!

Jacqi, thanks for taking a look at my blog and list of surnames. Our earliest Metzger is Catharine Metzger Wagoner. She is my husband’s greatgreatgrandmother. Catherine was born 1 Apr. 1807 in Montgomery Co., OH. She died 12 May 1891 in Clinton Co., IN according to information I’ve been able to find. She was the daughter of Andrew Metzger and Mary Ulrich and the wife of Samuel Wagoner Sr. who has born Nov. 1808 in Montgomery Co., OH and died 1 Oct. 1869, Osceola, St. Clair Co., MO. It looks like Catharine had 8 siblings: Susannah, John E., Stephen, Andrew, Mary Elizabeth, Jacob, Anna and Barbara. The Wagoner and Metzger families were German Baptist Brethren.
